I have a particular set of beliefs when it comes to religion and spirituality, but I always find it fascinating to see how others frame their lives around their religion. Having been around a number of cathedrals and churches throughout Europe, it was equally enlightening to see the Hindu temple at Batu Caves and the Buddhist temple at Thean Hou while I was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia earlier this year.
We woke up early to get to the temple and avoid the crowds, but being the week after Thaipusam, there were plenty of people. But that was wonderful to photograph too, and I’m so glad I got to experience this.
