Link Loves: Volume X

Recent Posts

Life is getting hectic but as always, I use links to relax, take a break, catch up on news, and give my brain a little kick. Enjoy this week’s edition of Link Loves!

I read the first in Deborah Harkness’s All Souls trilogy last year when I borrowed it from a friend, am in the middle of the second book, and watched the British TV adaptation while in the UK. And needless to say, I’m a little obsessed, and thoroughly enjoyed this podcast between the author and Folger Library. And I’m currently doing a uni module on witches in the early modern period. I’m a happy gal.

Enjoy this to celebrate World Poetry Day.

And this too.

I’m currently reading Rainer Maria Rilke’s Letters on Cezanne, and was struck by the thought of a “great work”, that elusive purpose in life we all yearn for. So enjoy the poem that explores this.

I once wrote a short story in high school inspired by The Yellow Wallpaper. Here’s a bit about the author.

I picked up two W. S. Merwin poetry collections from the library this week and this is a rather beautiful sentiment to match.

I took a break from Instagram when I got back to Melbourne for a week and this is why: creatives have a problem with Instagram, and it’s a time drain.

As you know, I’m not big on celebrity. But once in a while, something catches my eye. This week it was Emilia Clarke’s revelation she had two brain aneurysms while filming Game of Thrones.

Sappho? Paris? Yes, please.

I discovered Yorke through an artist, Charli Burrowes, I follow on Instagram, who created this music video for her.

As autumn starts to really set in, Sézane’s spring collection has dropped and I am drooling…

I read Sally Rooney’s latest short story (haven’t gotten around to Normal People yet!) during last week’s Instagram outage and it’s just gorgeous.

Lastly, I discovered the soundtrack from The Hours, and now I need to go watch it to match the music to the visuals:

See you next week -nat 🥀♥️
