📌 Lake District, UK | 3 days
Back on the road today! To the Lake District. Although it rained, we walked around Keswick, where we stayed along the River Greta, up a hill to the Castlerigg Stone Circl and through fields of sheep and cows. Loved the area because of the stone walls and rolling hills, exactly what I imagined through books I read growing up. To see it in person is something I’ll never take for granted.
Day two involved walking the shores of Windermere, Coniston Water, and Grasmere. Although misty and a little cool at times, the sun peeked out a few times, and we glimpsed little, lonely houses overlooking the lake.
En route to Yorkshire, we stopped by Aira Force, a powerful, majestic waterfall that’s probably the best I’ve ever seen. We also chased bridges around Derwentwater and Ulswater, despite the crazy wind and rain (don’t freak out but I saw a pretty big tree branch fall down in front of me perhaps 5 metres away. And then we said our goodbyes and left for the moors.
