It's been a week since I got back home from Americ

It's been a week since I got back home from America, so I'll be back to regular posting. But, I wanted to write a bit about the background behind the photos I did share while I was travelling.

The last time I travelled overseas in Europe, I didn't share much when I was actually away (there was another short Germany trip for a conference but anywho). I wasn't motivated to share on Instagram anyway, but more to the point, I didn't want to be adding to the saturation of endless photos of landscapes and bloggers. I wanted to share something different, something unique, I just couldn't figure out what that might be.

But now I have. I've tried as much as possible not to share the usual wanderlust photos of instagrammable destinations and locations, but rather the little moments that create stories of travel. They tell stories of early mornings watching the sunrise and late nights stargazing, of long hours in the car, of navigating using paper maps and google maps, of vignettes that tell of moments in passing I'd otherwise forget. I'll still share my landscape photography on the @FlowerFolio blog, but Instagram is a place where I don't want to be pigeon-holed. I want to prove it's a place for curiosity and authenticity, for storytelling with a purpose, for the deep and the meaningful ♥️🥀✈️

Mule deer in Zion National Park last evening. The deer come out near the road to feed on the grasses in the crepesculean light. There were a whole group of them, seemingly unafraid of humans. These two were nuzzling each other's ears 😍😍
